New Delhi: Art is not a handicraft, it is the transmission of feeling the artist has experienced.” Leo Tolstoy Bharati Shah an abstract artist who is also a qualified lawyer will be showcasing her solo art exhibition “RUBARU” starting from 29th October till 4th November 11 am till 7 pm daily at Gallery No 5 in Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. This show will be her 16th solo and her 68th exhibition, a self-taught Cubist artist she possesses a very bold artistic expression, having excelled in painting for over three decades. Her paintings bring out positivity, emotional connection with the audiences and calls for a moment to hold and just watch. Cubism is an early 20th-century avant-garde art movement, pioneered by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque that revolutionized the representation of reality by dissecting subjects into geometric forms and showing them from multiple angles simultaneously. Bharati‘s work is modern and contemporary but it is a hundred years old style which was a revolution then. The artist says “I stumbled upon it not knowing the history behind it; it allows me to explore and understand my mind without being tied down by any parameters. I am free to create not what my eyes see but what is deep in my soul. Blending different shades is like blending different emotions on the Canvas of life.”

Bharati also goes on to say “I would like the audience to make their own story from my works. I don’t have a set story behind any of my paintings. I do ask my viewers what they can visualise from it so i get to see my works from their eyes.” The uniqueness of her 25 works on display is the fantastic sense of colours which sets her apart. The use of colours is a riot and the treatment unmatchable. Her works bring out the best of any location be it homes, office or public places across the globe. She firmly believes that the process of painting is the process of healing. Her paintings say things which are unsaid or unspoken. The artist holds a Diploma in Human Resources besides other certifications, with over 65 exhibitions, including 16 Solo shows, her works adorn the walls of many private collectors; private persons and corporate offices in India and USA, UK, UAE, Bulgaria, Germany, Belgium, Singapore, and Australia etc. Her works have been displayed; appreciated and bought at World Art Dubai, the other Art Fair-Sydney, the Affordable Art Fair-Singapore, Parallax London, and Art Expo New York amongst others. In India her works are regularly auctioned by Saffron Art and Saatchi as well as sold by Archer Art Gallery; Rumi Art Gallery Ahmedabad amongst others.
