The Liszt Institute – Hungarian Cultural Centre Delhi, in collaboration with Romani Design (Hungary), proudly presents the Hungarian Roma fashion show “Roots & Routes” on Monday, 9 March 2026.
Founded by renowned designers Erika Varga and Heléna Varga, Romani Design is the world’s first Roma fashion house dedicated to celebrating Roma identity through contemporary fashion. Their creations transcend conventional apparel, serving as a powerful visual narrative that weaves together vibrant textiles, signature floral motifs, and distinctive silhouettes to reflect the history, migration, resilience, and cultural pride of the Roma community.
The showcase highlights how fashion can act as a bridge between cultures. The Roma people of Hungary share deep linguistic and historical connections with North India, making this event a meaningful exploration of shared Indo-Hungarian artistic and aesthetic traditions. Through the collection presented in “Roots & Routes,” audiences will experience how heritage, identity, and modern design intersect to create a unique and compelling fashion language.

Adding to the glamour of the evening, Mrs India 2024, Ishmeet Kaur, will grace the runway as the showstopper, bringing elegance and contemporary Indian representation to this cross-cultural celebration of Roma fashion.
“Roots & Routes” promises an evening where culture, couture, and history come together on the runway, celebrating diversity, shared origins, and the evolving story of Roma fashion on the global stage.
